[ SPECTRUM™ COLOR COATING ]
Biocompatible. Durable. Colorful.
Spectrum™ is a proprietary vacuum-based PVD process that produces nano-engineered durable and functionally aesthetic color coatings on any reflective substrate including metal alloys such as stainless steel, NiTi, and CoCr which cannot be color anodized.
Spectrum™ color coatings can also be applied to metal-coated thermoplastic substrates such as PEEK. Its unique characteristics make Spectrum™ ideal for applications where durability and adherence are crucial, such as orthodontic appliances, minimally invasive instrumentation, orthopedic instrument sets, and surgical or fixation devices.
Benefits of Spectrum
Spectrum™ color coatings are thin ceramic layers which produce a wide variety of optical interferometric color tones similar in appearance to anodized titanium, but without the need to expose parts to a corrosive acidic environment. Its functional benefits range from biocompatibility, reduced friction, corrosion and wear resistance, and excellent durability at over 200 cleaning and autoclave cycles. Spectrum™ color coatings offer aesthetic benefits for product differentiation, as they are available in variety of color tones including green, magenta, gold, blue, aqua, teal, as well as rainbow-like multi-tone colors.
